The basics: Ana. 26. Lives in Iowa (proud Hawkeye). Hails from Texas, to make it simple you can think of me as Texican. I don't eat sandwiches, only burritos. Favorite colors: orange, yellow, pink, lime green (in that order). I don't have a favorite food, I just like everything. Embarrassing fact of the day: lifelong Celine Dion fan (seriously).
A little deeper: Diagnosed with Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension (Pseudotumor Cerebri) on 6/15/2011. Currently taking Diamox and Lasix. Weight loss progress: 85/122 pounds lost (starting 10/10/2011). Ultimate goal: get off the stupid meds.
My workout in a nutshell: I have a gym membership. I use it every day, though I prefer to run outside when the weather is nice. My crack of choice is the treadmill, but I started exercising on the elliptical and I still do so to this day. I run 3-5 miles 5-7 times a week, I cross train on the elliptical twice a week, I follow Pilates instruction videos whenever I get the chance (30 mins to an hour once or twice a week). I recently started weight lifting, mostly to tone my arms and back (I'll keep you updated on that progress).
Height: 5'9"/175.26 cm
Highest weight: 292.0. Once, I saw 297.0 on the scale but I was so ashamed and embarrassed that I refuse to acknowledge this as real. My highest recorded weight in my medical records is 292.0, and that's what I go off of.
Current weight: 207.0
Goal weight: 170... for now. I haven't decided where I want to stop, so I've set this goal with the intention of letting time and nature make the decision for me.
I'm living in limbo in a college town with my grad student boyfriend (who shall remain nameless... we'll just keep calling him boyfriend, mmkay?). Working full time in the hotel industry (contrary to popular belief, this is my chosen career, not just some random calling), enjoying a flexible life somewhere in the upper middle half of the totem pole. I know we'll have to move to another state in a few years' time so I hesitate to put down any permanent roots, but the fate of our futures has yet to be decided so I do my best to fill the empty space to keep from going crazy. I'm still doing the student thing too, so there's a class peppered in here and there.
In the mean time, I run. I blog. I shop. I pick up ridiculous hobbies like gardening and reading super long books. I have social anxiety, and to be plainly honest, I don't really like people so there isn't much to my social life. Our student baggage keeps us from traveling much, but since we have families in different states travel happens whether we plan it or not. I make it a point not to drink alcohol, mostly because I did plenty of that before it was legal, and also because it doesn't really fit in with my weight loss goals. Coincidentally, my Celine Dion habit takes me to Vegas a lot which makes me a liar if you read the previous sentence.

Before, 285 pounds, 6/29/2011.

In progress, 265 pounds, 1/03/2012.

Current, 220 ish pounds, 10/20/2012.
I would have more photos to share, except I've decided my only before/in progress/after photos will HAVE TO be taken in front of that sign in Caesar's Palace. HAVE TO. No exceptions. Anyone up for going to Vegas?
